Well pumps, septic and mold: jobs we do not take

We cover plumbing, drains, sewer lines, water heating and water damage removal and drying. We do not cover well pumps, pressure tanks, septic tanks or leach fields, and we do not do mold testing or remediation. Tell us up front if your problem involves one of these.

Questions to ask any plumber before work starts

  • What is the contractor's license number? Look it up on the Contractors State License Board's lookup, and check that the classification fits the work.
  • What exactly will you do, and is the estimate in writing?
  • What happens if you find something else once the wall or floor is open?
  • What is repaired and what is replaced, and can I see the old part?

Plumbing falls under the C-36 classification. License details are available on request. A plumber who answers these plainly before the visit is easier to work with during it.

Repair or replace: how to think about it

A repair makes sense when the part is the problem and the rest of the system is sound. Replacement makes sense when the same equipment keeps failing, when parts are no longer made or when the repair costs close to the price of new. Hard water shortens the life of tank heaters in this area, so age matters as much as the symptom.

Ask for both options in writing when the choice is close. Each service page explains what to ask, and price ranges before you decide shows what jobs typically run.
